The Subconscious Mind and Communication

December 13th, 2008

Our subconscious mind dictates not only our communication as human beings, but the level to which we, as human beings, relate to one another.

For example, since the right brain is mostly creativity and is the center of the subconscious mind, and the left brain is mostly logical and is the majority of our conscious mind, the more right-brained we are, the more likely we are to be more receptive to emotion, and if we are left brain we are more apt to be less emotional.

This is why commonly the doctor/lawyer type tend to be less emotional in nature, that their profession is one of logic, and they tend to be very analytical in their thought processes.

When you think of an “artsy” type person you know, it may bring to mind someone who is very sympathetic to other people and their lives.

I explain all of the above to reach the following premise: the subconscious mind is our closest link to the unconscious mind (collective consciousness, god mind, holy spirit.. call it what you will). This is why it is vitally important that, no matter how artistically or creatively inclined a person is, people make a daily effort to boost their creativity and understanding of other people.

Not only will boosting our connection with the subconscious mind help to make us more creative, but will inspire us to find faster and better solutions to the challenges that we face in life. Creativity is how many of the largest companies on earth have been built. Ideas are the seed of all wealth, and when connected to the subconscious mind, and thus, the “god mind”, we will find more and more opportunities in life to achieve whatever it is we are looking for.

An Important Note When Writing Affirmations

December 11th, 2008

When doing affirmations, it is important that you use positive or affirmative language. Instead of saying, “I don’t get nervous”, say something more like, “I am perfectly relaxed and confident at all times”.

The difference may seem subtle at first, but it is very significant. Here’s why: our subconscious mind has a hard time with negative words. For example, if I say, “Don’t think of a pink elephant”, you will probably have think of a pink elephant - it’s unavoidable.

Because of this, it is important that every affirmation that you use contains only “affirmative” language.

They are called affirmations because when used, you are reaffirming your thoughts to yourself. So to use language that states a positive is best.

When the statements you use suggest the things you don’t want, like, “I don’t crave cigarettes”, you are still bringing “cigarettes” into your mind. So when writing affirmation statements to give yourself, be very careful that they are chosen properly. Do not imply in your statements things that you do not want.

This also serves to help train your mind to only focus on the things you want, which is amazingly powerful in terms of sculpting and training our minds toward a proactive state, where solutions are given importance rather than problems.

Welcome

December 9th, 2008

Have you ever heard anyone say, “I think, therefore I am”? There’s a whole lot of truth to this.

This blog is devoted toward spreading awareness of the power of positive thinking and what you can accomplish in your personal development by using affirmations.

On a side note: I came across something the other day that I think is well worth a read. It’s Called, “The Game of Life and How to Play it”. It was written in 1925, and all of the things I found in there still hold true today.

Anyhow, this blog is dedicated toward giving you information about all things thought, as thought is truely the most powerful force on earth - it has created everything that we as humanity enjoy.
